Geothermal Facility Implementation Case: Kanayama Seiki Manufacturing Co., Ltd. Shiga Factory

Introducing a case study of a company that continues to take on challenges in various business fields, which has been adopted by the Shiga factory!

Kanayama Seiki Manufacturing Co., Ltd. is a company that continues to challenge itself in various business fields based on precision metal processing technology for aircraft parts and more. Amidst the changing environment surrounding the domestic metal processing industry due to intensified competition with overseas manufacturers and rising electricity costs, the company is striving to improve productivity by proposing three themes for a new concept factory: (1) "24-hour constant temperature," (2) "energy saving," and (3) "clean environment." The "GEO Power System" has been adopted at the Shiga factory based on its successful implementation at the company's resort facilities. After the introduction, we received positive feedback from employees stating, "We are experiencing sufficient effects in line with our objectives." [Case Overview] ■ Completion: September 2014 Published in the GEO Power System newsletter "Wind of the Earth," Issue 297. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Aquifer thermal energy storage (high-performance heat source well)

Legal regulations, environmental conservation, and technical challenges! By exchanging heat with a sense of the seasons, we can maintain the thermal balance of the ground.

I would like to introduce "Aquifer Thermal Energy Storage (High-Performance Heat Source Well)." As of March 2019, it accounts for approximately 28% of the ground heat utilization systems by the Ministry of the Environment. As a result of the operation on the secondary side, the heat recovery rate for seasonal use is 80%, and the SCOP when directly using cold water stored in winter during the intermediate period was 48.3. Furthermore, by balancing the amounts of cold water and hot water storage as well as the pumped water and circulating water, long-term use is possible in terms of both environmental protection and efficiency. 【Features】 ■ Construction of a pumping and circulating water switching type heat source well that is less prone to clogging ■ Suppression of underground subsidence risk ■ By reusing drainage with a pumping volume of 100m3 per hour, it is possible to secure a high COP for air conditioning in a building with a total floor area of 10,000m2. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study] Snow Melting System Using Renewable Energy "Geothermal Heat"

By utilizing geothermal heat for snow melting, we have eliminated the burden of snow removal and removed the anxiety of slipping due to freezing!

"Geothermal energy" is one of the renewable energies that utilizes heat from relatively shallow ground. By taking advantage of the characteristic that underground temperatures are constant, it can be used for heating, cooling, and snow melting. For those considering the use of geothermal energy, we have prepared materials that showcase case studies from FCS. *For more details, please refer to the materials available for download in PDF format.

Geothermal business

Feel the Earth's body temperature with renewable energy heat! It is stable and available anywhere.

"Geothermal energy" is a natural energy source that can be used stably anytime and anywhere. Toho Chimizu offers proposals for "Geothermal Energy Utilization Systems." We provide two methods: the "closed-loop system," which involves inserting a heat exchanger into a newly installed heat exchange well and utilizing the heat from the ground with water or brine as the medium, and the "open-loop system," which uses pumped groundwater directly as the heat source for heat pumps. Our company has a track record of installing "Geothermal Energy Utilization Air Conditioning Heat Pump Systems" in public facilities, including schools, private enterprises, and commercial facilities. 【Features of Geothermal Energy】 ■ A clean energy source that reduces global warming ■ Stable and usable anywhere ■ Low running costs ■ Eligibility for subsidy programs *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

Geothermal Facility Introduction Case: Oyabe City Kanitani Children's Garden (Toyama Prefecture)

Expecting the effects of peak power reduction! Children with high activity levels can comfortably spend the whole year.

At Kaniyama Children's Garden, unlike the Pacific side, we believe it is difficult to benefit from solar energy during the cold winter, and we have been exploring systems that utilize natural energy. Through air circulation, we can maintain clean air, which I think is a suitable system for the children's garden, so we introduced the "Geo Power System." During the hot summer months, we are able to spend comfortably in low humidity and refreshing air by utilizing the EHP integrated into the system. Additionally, we particularly appreciate its benefits in winter, gradually raising the temperature settings for the heat storage layer once we start to feel the chill. [Reasons for Implementation] - There is a heat storage layer under the floor, allowing for comfortable air conditioning in the space where the children are. - By utilizing late-night hours for heat storage, we also expect to achieve peak power cut effects. - Air circulation helps maintain clean air. *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us. [Case Study of Geothermal Heat Facility] Service-Provided Housing for the Elderly - Kenseikan

Introducing examples adopted with the aim of considering users who are not comfortable with air conditioning!

The service-equipped housing for the elderly, Ken Seikan, was selected for the FY 2011 project "Service-Equipped Housing for the Elderly" (Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism) and opened in October 2012. It has become one of the largest facilities in Asakura City, Fukuoka Prefecture, attracting attention. By creating a comfortable nursing facility with good air quality, we hope to encourage elderly residents who tend to stay in their rooms to come out and interact. To this end, we introduced the "GEO Power System" in the day service area on the first floor. This system was adopted to consider users who are sensitive to air conditioning, reduce the unique odors of nursing facilities, and lower running costs by reducing the load on the air conditioning. Staff members have expressed surprise, saying, "The air in the day service area is fresh," and "I don't notice any food odors." [Case Overview] ■ Purpose: Consideration for users who are sensitive to air conditioning, reduction of unique odors in nursing facilities, and reduction of running costs by decreasing air conditioning load. ■ Completion: September 2012 Published in the GEO Power System newsletter "Wind of the Earth" No. 274 *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
